Dr James Stiehl has practiced orthopaedic surgery for the past 36 years, and has had a very active academic focus to his career.  There are 4 textbooks where he is a lead author, and 100 peer reviewed scientific publications that have been published in medical journals.

He is best known for scientific research with a focus on technology and surgical technique. 

He completed an MBA at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with the idea of focusing on medical device startups where he has focused much of his efforts for the past 10 years. 

Currently he has founded a company, Stiehl Tech LLC, that now has filed several patents on a project started in 2006 regarding surgical lavage delivery systems in orthopaedic surgery.
